Investing in the next generation of skilled trades in Nevada. $250 awarded annually to a student pursuing HVAC, refrigeration, or plumbing.

The Cooling Company was founded in 2011 by the Santana family in Las Vegas. We know firsthand what it takes to build a career in the trades — the training, the tools, the mentorship. We also know that every great technician started somewhere, and a little help at the right moment can change a life.
This scholarship exists for that moment. Every year, we fund an award for a Nevada student pursuing a career in HVAC, refrigeration, or plumbing. Our goal is simple: keep the pipeline of skilled technicians strong in Southern Nevada, and help a student who's serious about the trade get one step closer to their license.
We are not looking for perfect grades. We are looking for someone who wants this and will put in the work.
The award is paid directly to the partner institution on the student's behalf for tuition, books, tools, or certification fees. Selection is made by the institution's financial aid office using our eligibility criteria.
This is a modest award by design. We want to commit to this every single year for the foreseeable future, and a sustainable amount means the program lasts. We plan to grow it over time as the business grows.
To be eligible for the Santana Family HVAC Scholarship, you must meet all of the following:
We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, age, or veteran status. Employees and family members of The Cooling Company are not eligible.
Partnership in Progress
We are currently finalizing the partnership with our first participating institution. Once confirmed, applications will be submitted directly through the institution's financial aid office, which will administer the scholarship and select the recipient. We expect to open applications by the end of Q2 2026.
While we finalize the partnership, here's how the process will work:
Look for "The Santana Family HVAC Scholarship" in their scholarship directory or ask a financial aid advisor how to apply.
Proof of Nevada residency, current enrollment verification, most recent academic transcript, and your 500-word essay.
The school's financial aid office reviews all eligible applications and selects the recipient based on the criteria above.
The school notifies the winner and disburses the $250 to their student account. We also invite the recipient to tour our shop and meet the team — optional but encouraged.
If you are a Nevada institution interested in offering this scholarship to your students, please email marketing@thecoolingco.com — we would love to partner with you.
$250 per academic year, paid directly to the partner institution for the recipient's tuition, books, tools, or certification fees.
The scholarship is awarded once per academic year. Previous recipients may reapply the following year through the partner institution's process.
No. There is no obligation to work for us. We hope our recipient stays in Nevada and thrives in the trades — wherever that takes them. (But if you want to join the team after you finish your program, we would love to talk.)
Yes. Accredited Nevada apprenticeship programs in HVAC, refrigeration, or plumbing qualify. Ask your apprenticeship coordinator whether they partner with us.
We are targeting an announcement by the end of Q2 2026, with applications opening shortly after. Check back, or email us at marketing@thecoolingco.com to be notified.
Yes, we welcome partners. If your organization wants to co-sponsor the scholarship, increase the award amount, or expand it to additional institutions, please reach out.
The partner institution's financial aid office selects the recipient. We intentionally keep the selection at the school so it remains impartial and focused on the criteria, not on any relationship with our company.
